A woman was sexually assaulted early Thursday in Boystown near Waveland Avenue and Halsted Street, police confirmed.
The attacked occurred on Waveland Avenue just west of Halsted Street.
Reports indicate that a woman was forced into a gangway behind the Lakeview Whole Foods store at 3640 N. Halsted St., which is also the site of the city’s LGBT community center, Center on Halsted. It is also surrounded by apartment buildings. Investigators were on the scene Thursday morning, according to a report by CBS Chicago.
Police would not release any information on the status of the investigation surrounding the attack, including details on suspects, arrests or information about the victim.
