Gerber/Hart Library & Archives, the Midwest’s largest LGBT library, has elected a new president. Former President Karen Sendziak will move to the role of treasurer at the non-profit, which is in the process of opening its new location in Rogers Park after a highly-scrutinized move from Edgewater.
Brad Tucker has been elected as President of the Board of Directors and will fulfill the rest of Sendziak’s term. In addition to Sendziak’s election to treasurer, John Orwat has been elected to Secretary of the Board.
Tucker previously served as president of Gerber/Hart from 1997 – 1999, when it moved from its Paulina Street location to its Granville Avenue location. The time around, he said he will focus again on overseeing the library’s latest move, according to a news release.
However, the library has not yet announced when the new location will be ready to open.
Neither Tucker nor Sendziak could be reached for comment.
Chicago Phoenix will update as more details become available.
